P. Chidambaram is a Rajya Sabha MP and one of independent India's most distinguished finance ministers, serving under both PM Narasimha Rao and PM Manmohan Singh. A Harvard-trained lawyer, he authored the landmark 1997 'Dream Budget' and oversaw India's post-2008 economic recovery as Finance Minister. He also served as Home Minister (2008–2012) and was arrested in 2019 in the INX Media case before getting bail.
