About the Party
Founded by activist Arvind Kejriwal out of the Anna Hazare anti-corruption movement, AAP rose spectacularly winning 67/70 Delhi seats in 2015. It expanded to Punjab in 2022. After its 2025 Delhi defeat and exit from the INDIA alliance in July 2025, AAP now contests independently.
