About the Party
Founded by film superstar Vijay (C. Joseph Vijay) in February 2024, TVK stunned India's political establishment by winning the 2026 Tamil Nadu election as the largest party in its first contest, ending the DMK-AIADMK duopoly. Vijay became Chief Minister in May 2026, governing in coalition with the INC.
