Manohar Joshi was the first Shiv Sena Chief Minister of Maharashtra, serving from 1995 to 1999 as part of the Sena-BJP Mahayuti coalition that swept to power ending 30 years of Congress dominance. An architect and businessman from Dadar, Mumbai, he had a long career in the Bombay Municipal Corporation before entering state politics. He later served as Speaker of the Lok Sabha (2002–04) and Union Minister. Known for his administrative competence and Mumbai development agenda.
